Download this FREE presentation by our CEO, Jim Cartmill entitled: Got Absorption? Maximizing Nutrition Through Liposomal Delivery You may not know that only a small percentage of traditional nutritional supplements are absorbed into our bloodstream. Learn how liposomal delivery of key nutrients is a game-changer for this seeking to dramatically increase absorption levels of 5 key nutrients. Treatment based on resveratrol could be a safer alternative to hormone replacement therapy (HRT) in postmenopausal women and could help prevent breast cancer, according to a new study. The findings of a study published in the Journal of Nutritional Biochemistry indicate that resveratrol is the most likely candidate of the phytoestrogens to offer safer HRT and chemoprevention of breast cancer due to its estrogenic activity and high antitumor activity. “Because it (resveratrol) stimulated the transcription of endogenous estrogen receptor (ER) and proapoptotic effects, this phytoestrogen is the most promising candidate as an HRT alternative and chemo preventive reagent for breast cancer,” they concluded. However, study after study validates one of the big issues with resveratrol is the poor absorption obtained when taking orally. Many have tried our Liposomal Resveratrol that increases the absorption of this important nutrient dramatically. Made with Non-GMO Resveratrol and Non-GMO Sunflower Seed Lecithin, it is a (Read More)
Most people take Vitamin C to fend off a cold, but new research suggests it could also be a possible weapon in the fight against cancer. A team of researchers at the University of Salfod in England evaluated seven substances – Vitamin C, two natural products, and four experimental cancer drugs – on their ability to block the growth of cancer stem cells, which inhibit chemotherapy and help tumors spread throughout the body. They found that Vitamin C did block the growth of cancer cells; in fact, it was 10 times more effective than one of the pharmaceuticals, although it was outperformed by two experimental drugs. The finding adds to previous research indicating that high dose vitamin C treatments could slow the growth of cancer cells in the prostate, liver, and colon. “Vitamin C is cheap, natural, nontoxic, and readily available,” study co author Michael Lisanti tells ScienceDaily.com. “To (Read More)
Improving the quality of your sleep can make you feel as good as winning the lottery, a new study suggests. British researchers analyzed the slumber patterns of more than 30,500 people over the course of four years and found those who made positive changes in their sleep habits were significantly happier and healthier. In fact, researchers said, the mental and physical advantages of better sleep were similar to improvements observed in British lottery winners two years after they’ve hit a $250,000 jackpot, reports ScienceDaily.com. It’s estimated that more than one-third of adults in the U.S. don’t get enough sleep, which puts them at higher risk of developing diabetes, obesity, depression, and other chronic health issues. Are you one of the many people that occasionally has problems sleeping? You should know that Melatonin is important for your body’s sleep cycle and supports restful sleep patterns. Melatonin is a natural hormone made by your (Read More)
This is only a small slice of the vaccine issue, but it is a dramatic finding. We know public health officials would never discourage people from getting flu vaccines. However, it is amazing that we do not see promotion of something so basic to insure children have a robust and healthy immune response, such as promoting the vital importance of vitamin C and vitamin D adequacy for the anti-viral flu response. It is well known that 70% of children in the United States lack optimal vitamin D. It is obvious that public health in the United States is more about protecting vested interests and antiquated paradigms of health than truly protecting the public health. This goes for us adults as well. Many have utilized our best-selling Liposomal Vitamin C and Dense Bone – our Premier Vitamin D3 formula to insure an optimal amount of vitamin C and D to assist in many (Read More)
Did you know that an estimated 95% of our population is deficient in Iodine? Do you suffer from lack of energy, headaches, irritability, muscle cramps, hair loss, brittle nails, cold hands and feet or muscle weakness? These are all symptoms of Hypothyroidism associated with low levels of Iodine.
“People who are married when diagnosed with cancer live longer than those who are not,” report researchers at Harvard-affiliated Dana Farber Cancer Institute in September. “Our data suggests that marriage can have a significant health impact for patients with cancer, and this was consistent among every cancer that we reviewed,” said Ayal Aizer, chief resident of the Harvard Radiation Oncology Program and the paper’s first author. They found that in comparison with married patients, unmarried cancer patients, including those who were widowed, were 17% more likely to have metastatic cancer and 53% less likely to receive the appropriate therapy. Researchers conducted the analysis with 700,000+ participants who were diagnosed with cancer. The 4 year study took place from 2004 to 2008 and focused on the top leading causes of cancerous death in the United States: breast, lung, colorectal pancreatic, ovarian, prostate, esophageal, head and neck, pancreatic, liver/bile duct, and non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. The data was adjusted to account for (Read More)
Unfortunately, due to today’s environmental pollutants, iodine deficiency has become a worldwide epidemic. It’s common knowledge that pollutants cause cancer, but what many don’t know is that these pollutants cause a deficiency that can make us sick. Iodized salt–supposedly a solution to iodine deficiency– provides a false sense of security. The government RDA (Recommended Daily Allowance) of Iodine for adults is a paltry 150 mcg. (micrograms). Noted medical doctor Guy Abraham, MD said, “RDA doses of iodine are ineffective in preventing oxidative DNA damage and have no anti-cancer effect in the body.” Did you know that doctors once considered iodine to be one of the most beneficial medicines on the planet? Iodine is utilized by every cell in the human body and a lack of iodine can make it difficult to properly detoxify the body; create thyroid dysfunction and promote cancer cell growth. With rising concerns of radiation exposure from the Fukushima nuclear power plant explosion, many (Read More)
Continued from Part 1 Apples The old adage – An apple a day keeps the doctor away – has real meaning for this amazing healing food. Commonly overlooked apples protect the body from nuclear fallout, kills a wide range of cancers, and keeps the arteries unclogged – plus a whole host of other healing properties. Apples have a way to awaken your own inner physician. Apples are loaded with the powerful antioxidants quercetin and catechin, which protect cells from damage – that means a reduced risk of cancer and cardiovascular disease, especially if you eat the skin. Research shows that the apple peel contains five times more polyphenols than the flesh. Apples and their skins pack a lot of fiber too (about twice that of other common fruits, including peaches, grapes, and grapefruit), which may help fight the battle of the bulge. In 2004, USDA scientists investigated over 100 foods (Read More)
Continued from Part 1: Foods That Prevent Cancer Turmeric Turmeric is the yellow-colored spice found in curry powder. Curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric, functions as both an anti-inflammatory and an antioxidant, and it may help prevent cancer by interfering with aspects of cellular signaling. In laboratory animals, curcumin has been shown to help prevent cancer of the breast, colon, stomach, liver, and lung. Using curry powder to spice up chicken and egg dishes is an easy way to incorporate it into your diet — and it has the added bonus of adding flavor to your meals, without any calories! Tea Tea contains compounds called catechins, compounds that scientists theorize may help stop the growth of cancer cells and prevent cellular mutations that contribute to cancer development. In Japan, where tea is the preferred beverage, green tea consumption has been linked to reduced risk of stomach cancer among women. (Read More)
